John's Island

John's Island is located in Charleston County. It is surrounded to the west by James Island and to the east by Wadmalaw Island and separated from the mainland by the Stono River. At almost 84 square miles, John's Island proudly carries the ranking of fourth largest inhabited island on the east coast. The charming island is home to the Angel Oak tree, a 1500 year old live oak that stands 65 feet tall and over 25 feet in diameter. Mullet Hall Equestrian Center located at Johns Island County Park offers outstanding facilities and plays host to competitive horse shows, festivals and events throughout the year.

Due to its proximity to Charleston, the island is quickly changing from a rural farming community to a highly desirable suburb of the port city. Home choices range from manufactured housing to condos and townhomes to single family residences on or near water in gated communities.
