West Ashley

Located west of historic downtown Charleston between the Ashley and Stono Rivers is the area of Charleston known as West Ashley.  I-526, Highway 17 South and Highway 61 run through the area and offer convenience to Citadel Mall, numerous strip malls, chain and family owned/operated restaurants, car dealerships, and hotels.  If you enjoy history, you can visit the beautiful Drayton Hall or Middleton Place Plantation and see the beautifully preserved architecture and stunning grounds. 

Although some new neighborhoods are popping up in West Ashley, this is a part of Charleston well-loved for its established neighborhoods full of mature trees.  Many neighborhoods are located close to or on water and the recreation opportunities are endless.  Jet skis, powerboats and sailboats are a common scene as you cross the bridges providing access to this charming area of Charleston.   Its proximity to downtown Charleston, Folly Beach, shopping, restaurants and state of the art medical facilities makes West Ashley a popular place to call home.
